What is bipolar depression?

There have been studies done on brain structure and function, brain-body connections and neurochemical messenger systems (also known as neurotransmitters). These studies suggest that there is an important, delicate two-way relationship between the brain’s behavior, mood and resistance to disease. They have shown that biological, emotional and social problems combine to affect individual patients, their families and the communities that the live in. Bipolar depression occurs when people’s social needs are unmet and they feel that their security and survival are threatened. This form of depression brings about extraordinary alterations in a person’s frame of mind, temper, energy and ability to work.

This is a pretty comprehensive site on depression...please keep it going. This is the place where people suffering from depression can come to finally find the answer that can bring light to help them manage and conquer their depression.
